PHOTONICS BRETAGNE 2024 Annual GENERAL MEETING

08/07/2024 – Photonics Bretagne welcomed 70 participants to its Annual General Meeting on 5 July in Lannion. Members, partners, funders and employees were able to take stock of the association’s activities over 2023, as well as get an overview of activities starting in 2024 and longer-term prospects. 13 new members officially joined the cluster, which now has 125 members.

  • Imagine Optic: Adaptive optics.
  • Aerotech Ltd: Precision positioning (UK).
  • Kwan-Tek: Quantum sensors (former Wainvam-e team).
  • Optoprim: Distributor of instruments, components and lasers.
  • Tomometrix: Tomographic studies.
  • Agro Innovation International (Roullier Group): Plant and animal nutrition.
Vanguard Automation : Equipment for PIC (DE).
  • Landelles Consulting: Independent consultant in photonics (underwater fibre optics).
  • ZE-NI: Treatment of industrial wastewater with micro-algae.
  • EuroFin Consulting : Independent consultant in photonics.
  • 2B Lighting : Instruments for fibres / colorimetry.
  • Plasseraud IP: Intellectual property firm.
  • OBS Innovation: Breton plant breeding organisation (breeder).

This was one of the key points to remember in order to answer the quiz that punctuated the first part of the morning in a fun way. This activity provided a perfect link with the rest of the programme, which highlighted the collaboration with the CMQe Numérique, Photonique & Cybersécurité (Digital, Photonics & Cybersecurity) in setting up photonics internships for 3rd year secondary school students. The students were invited to take a few minutes to present their ‘My 1st photonics start-up’ project, created during their placement, to an audience impressed by these young talents! To round off the morning, the traditional members’ pitch session featured Evosens, ArmorScience, Tomometrix, Images & Réseaux, Kwan-Tek and Percipio Robotics. Preceded by a networking cocktail reception, the afternoon was devoted to 4 brainstorming workshops on themes that are dear to the photonics ecosystem: training/employment, technology, industry leadership and intellectual property. A well-paced and successful day, marking a key moment in the year when the Breton (and non-Breton) photonics community comes together to network and brainstorm!
