6/03/2025 – Photonics Bretagne was delighted to welcome a group of over 20 members of ADN Ouest (Agir pour le Développement du Numérique dans l’Ouest), the largest network of digital professionals in the Greater West of France. The visit was part of their Learning Expedition to meet innovative players in the Côtes d’Armor region, in partnership with Orange, and organised by Philippe Quémerais of ENSSAT.
The visit was an opportunity for participants to discover Photonics Bretagne’s unique expertise in photonic technologies and their applications in various industrial sectors. After a presentation of our association and our activities, visitors were able to explore our technology platform and gain a better understanding of the manufacturing processes for our special optical fibres. In particular, they visited the glass bench to see how the solid, microstructured preforms are made. These are then stretched in the fibre-drawing tower to become optical fibres, a stage also discovered during the visit.
The afternoon was punctuated by rewarding exchanges between members of ADN Ouest and our experts, particularly on the prospects offered by photonics for innovation and digital transformation. This meeting illustrates once again the importance of synergies between technological and digital ecosystems in meeting the industrial challenges of tomorrow.
We would like to thank ADN Ouest for this visit, and we remain committed to promoting the growth of photonics technologies in Brittany and beyond!
