Research and innovation at the heart of the Industry Minister’s visit to Lannion

24/10/2024 – The new Minister for Industry, Marc Ferracci, met with Orange Innovation, Nokia, Lumibird and Ekinops on 21 October in Lannion. This was an opportunity to take stock of the challenges facing innovation and the projects currently under development: 5G and its deployment, 6G, artificial intelligence, digital technology, fibre optics, photonics and quantum communication. Against this backdrop, the Minister expressed his determination to preserve the research tax credit despite budget restrictions.

In addition to discussions with the directors of the companies he visited, and with elected representatives and economic players from the Lannion Trégor Communauté area, he also met engineering students from ENSSAT and BUT Réseaux et Télécommunication. The highlight of his visit to Lannion was the presentation of a ‘France 2030’ plaque to Ekinops, which has received €4.9 million in government funding. Support for the technologies of the future.
