04/06/2024 – Photonics for agriculture was at the centre of discussions at the Business Meeting co-organised by Photonics France and Photonics Bretagne on 31 May in Rennes, with the support of Vegepolys Valley, OptoPartner and Hamamatsu. The two organisations provided an excellent showcase for 5 speakers – the agricultural technical institute Arvalis, the Roullier Group, the Idele livestock institute, Bioplants and Tematys – who were able to present their issues and research in the morning. These were subjects that gave rise to a great deal of discussion during the networking sessions, and particularly in the afternoon during the workshops where participants gathered around the speakers.
It was also an opportunity to recall the role that Photonics Bretagne can play thanks to its expertise in agrophotonics, and the funding opportunities offered by the PhotonHub Europe project. It was a day of high quality, with the aim of promoting more environmentally-friendly agriculture!
