Collaborative project (AMI Carnot, Carnot AgriFood Transition)
Agricultural anaerobic digestion, which is essential to the energy transition, is plagued by methane losses that are harmful to both the climate and the economy. To go beyond the inadequate half-yearly regulatory checks, the RECAP project aims to develop a network of optical sensors for the continuous detection of methane leaks at farm sites.
Our objective: To develop a system incorporating interconnected optical sensors and a real-time alert tool. The system is intended for deployment at farm level and to serve as a transferable technological building block for manufacturers of anaerobic digestion units and equipment suppliers in the biogas sector.
