On February 23, 2023, the Association pour une Renaissance européenne – Côtes-d’Armor welcomed Valérie Hayer, Member of the European Parliament and President of the association. She chaired in a panel discussion on the issues of sovereignty and reindustrialization in Lannion.
Earlier in the day, she visited the Photonics Park together with MP Eric Bothorel, President of Lannion-Trégor Conurbation Gervais Egault, and a delegation of local elected representatives. The visits of the laser specialist company Lumibird and Photonics Bretagne was an opportunity to understand the challenges that Brittany’s photonics industry faces at the European level.
At Photonics Bretagne, the group was welcomed by the association’s president, Patrice Le Boudec, who gave a general presentation of our various activities. They were then guided by Sébastien Claudot, technical manager for fibres and components, on a tour of the equipment and manufacturing process for optical fibres.
The delegation left impressed by the local expertise and its European influence… and with a souvenir in their pocket (a cut silica drop).
